Research

My major interest is economic development. I mostly use the lens of agriculture to study it. Agricultural insurance, food policy (including on safety nets, price supports, stabilisation and trade), and technology supply (especially from the private sector) have been some of my research areas. I am particularly interested in how these issues matter to structural transformation. This links up with a major motivation of my research: of how growth matters to low-income populations.
